I read this editorial in the Watertown Daily Times. I'm feeling kind of "wowed" by it if you know what I mean. It just seems to me that the North Country should be a major concern to politicians as far as cold weather seasons goes. I can't imagine the impact the heating costs are going to have on lower income families this year. It's sad to think that a senior citizen lives their life only to suffer in their golden years, or a baby gets sick because of lack of warmth.
I bet the politians who just might find the time to fit us in up here go home to warm and cozy houses everyday after work.

A Necklace Wearing Article
Here's an article I read on Trader Lou's blog that I thought was pretty interesting, so I thought I'd share:
Maybe I'll get it done this weekend so I can get some pix's up.
Have a great day!

Multi Color Ladder Bracelet
This is a new bead stitch for me. The ladder stitch is relatively easy and adding the
additional beads was fun to do. Watching the bracelet develop into something sparkly and pretty is always satisfying! The base colors are soft pastels, then I added the silver as what I'll call the fringe. At first, I thought the silver overpowered the pastels too much and I think I still feel that way just a bit. But, all in all I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Purple Violet Necklace
I created the neck cord using green AB and gold glass seed beads applying the spiral round bead stitch. The pendent is a hand painted button. The necklace is approximately 20-inches in length and ends with a gold plated lobster clasp.
I've begun working on a new bracelet design today. Basic ladder stitch with a bit of bling bling added to it. I think it's going to look pretty nice.
Have a nice weekend!

Black and Gold Butterfly Necklace
I created this with black and gold glass seedbeads using the spiral round bead stitch.
The pendent is a hand painted wooden button. The necklace is approximately 20-inches
in length and ends with a gold plated lobster clasp.

Dogwood Flower Necklace
I finished this necklace earlier in the week and I think it came out beautiful.
A yellow and white seed beaded spiral adorned with a handpainted dogwood flower button. I thought it made the cutest pendent. The necklace is almost 20 inches in length and it connects with a goldplated lobster clasp. I used Nymo thread to bead with, it's so nice to work with.
I tried the necklace on and it's so light I practically didn't know I had anything around my neck. I'm working on another using a wooden butterfly button. I found the buttons at JoAnne Fabrics and I think incorporating them with the beaded spiral looks great.
I finished up some earrings I had too. They're pretty and perfect for summer wear.
Here's a few pictures of the necklace.....
